The question of when tech giant Samsung will launch its long-awaited first tri-fold smartphone may have been answered. A new report, citing South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency, pinpoints the device’s launch date.
Galaxy Z TriFold Officially Appears
Samsung’s innovative device will reportedly be unveiled during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which will be held in Gyeongju, South Korea, from October 31st to November 1st.

Previous reports indicated that Samsung would unveil this revolutionary phone before the end of the year. This new report suggests the launch will take place at an international summit.
The device is expected to be called the Galaxy Z TriFold. Previously leaked specifications indicate that the phone will feature a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display when unfolded.
The model, expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, will come with up to 16GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB. Software-wise, the device will reportedly run Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box.
The camera features are quite striking. The phone is expected to feature a 200MP main camera on the rear, a 12MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. It is also rumored to feature two 10MP front cameras on the front.
The Galaxy Z TriFold’s operating mechanism offers three different usage scenarios. When fully opened, the device expands to the size of a tablet. When fully closed, it retains the appearance of a standard smartphone screen.
When held partially open, it provides the user with a large screen experience similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. These claims suggest that Samsung is preparing for a new era in mobile technology with foldable displays.
