Steam officially launched its summer sale campaign last week. Announced by Valve, the event is offering hundreds of dollars off popular games. According to the latest data, Steam has reached its highest number of concurrent users ever.
Steam concurrent player numbers set a new record
SteamDB, which tracks Steam stats, announced that Steam reached more than 36.9 million concurrent players. This figure surpasses the record of 36.3 million concurrent players set in March 2024. The Summer Sale is thought to have played a big role in this figure.
Steam’s self-reported figures also revealed that it peaked at 36.9 million users. The sale offered up to 95 percent off on some games, sending millions of gamers flocking to the digital platform.
A few popular games are particularly noteworthy. For example, the racing game Forza Horizon 4 was removed from sale this week and discounted by 80 percent. It’s also giving players one last chance before it’s pulled from the digital store in December.
Palworld received its first major content update earlier this week. According to SteamDB’s figures, the number of players increased by 800 percent to over 140,000 after the update. Considering that it is still in early access, Palworld is doing great things.
Thanks to the big discounts and popular games that will continue throughout the week, it is possible to say that Steam can break new records.
