Visa’s data for 2024 revealed that the gaming sector is growing rapidly in Europe, leaving many traditional sectors behind. Gaming spending increased by 16.7 percent compared to the previous year, faster than areas such as travel, fashion, theater and cinema. Turkey, on the other hand, became the country with the highest number of gamers in Europe with a ‘gamer’ rate of 24 percent.

The influence of content producers also played an important role in this rise in the gaming world. According to the research, 28 percent of gamers state that gaming content producers have a great impact on their spending decisions.

The connection that the young generation has established with gaming influencers is among the factors that accelerate the growth of the sector. 70 percent of gamers in the 18-24 age group interact with a gaming influencer at least once a week.
3 out of every 10 gamers in Europe are either actively streaming games or producing gaming content. A significant portion of content producers want to become professionals in this field. However, creating a sustainable revenue model in this ecosystem is still seen as a major challenge.
41 percent of game content creators earn income, but have difficulty making regular and sustainable profits. The majority of income comes from subscriptions, advertising revenues, and direct consumer spending.
