Google continues to integrate its AI-powered Gemini system into its Workspace services. With the latest update, videos uploaded to Google Drive can now be analyzed by Gemini without being watched by users.
Gemini AI will be available for Google Drive
Gemini is now applying the summarization feature it previously offered for documents and PDF content to video files. Users can ask the AI which decisions a meeting recording contains or which technical features are introduced in a long presentation video.

The AI can scan the information in the content and respond directly to such questions. The function saves significant time, especially for work groups working with long video recordings or users who want to access information quickly.
This new function can be used via the video preview screen of Google Drive or via the chat panel that opens in a separate browser tab. However, automatic subtitles must be turned on in order for videos to be analyzed.
The system, which currently only works in English, is available to limited user groups. The feature is currently available; It will be available to Google Workspace users, Google One AI Premium subscribers, and those who have previously purchased the Gemini Business or Enterprise add-on.
Google plans to gradually roll out this functionality to all users. What do you think about this? Which AI tools do you use in your daily life? You can share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
