As of Friday evening, Google Gemini topped Apple’s Most Downloaded Free Apps list in Turkey and the US. ChatGPT, another AI app, came in second. This success was reinforced by the rise of other Google apps on the charts. Gemini also proved its popularity by ranking second in Canada and the UK.

In the two-week period from August 26th to September 9th, the Gemini app reached 23 million new users. During the same period, more than 500 million images were edited using the Nano Banana model.

Behind this rapid viral success lies the model’s superior ability to maintain character similarity and consistency. Users can upload multiple photos to create new ones, combine different styles, and perform chat-based editing.

Free users can create or edit up to 100 images per day, while users with a monthly subscription of ₺719.99 or more can increase this limit to 1,000.
