The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has signed a global partnership agreement with world-renowned technology company TCL that will last until 2032. Under this agreement, the company will become the Official Global Partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the Home Imaging Systems and Home Appliances category.
IOC and technology giant join forces
As part of the partnership, a wide range of technological solutions will be offered during the Olympic Games, from digital screens to home appliances in the Olympic Village. With the marketing campaigns to be carried out together with the International Olympic Committee, the excitement of the Games will be conveyed to billions of viewers. In addition, by supporting artificial intelligence projects developed by the IOC, the experiences of athletes and spectators will be improved.

The ‘Athlete Moments’ initiative at the Olympic Games will enable athletes to connect with their relatives around the world immediately after the competitions. In this context, it will also contribute to the sustainable development goals of the Olympics.
The IOC will provide financial support to sports organisations around the world, national Olympic committees and Olympic Games organising committees with the revenues generated through this partnership. This revenue will play a critical role in increasing the global reach of sport and sustaining the development of athletes.
At the announcement ceremony at the Water Cube and Ice Cube, the iconic venues of the 2008 and 2022 Beijing Olympics, IOC President Thomas Bach said the partnership would bring a new dimension to sport and technology. With the universal unifying power of the Olympic Games, he saw this collaboration as an opportunity for athletes around the world.
A wide range of products will be available for athletes and spectators throughout the Games, including smart display systems, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, smart door locks, audio systems and smart glasses. With all these technologies, both the digital infrastructure of the games will be strengthened and the comfort of the participants will be increased.
Founded in 1981, the technology company acts with the mission of ‘Building a Sustainable and Connected Future with Advanced Technology’. It invests in R&D and production activities to support a smart and healthy lifestyle and to popularise new generation technologies.
Jiří Kejval, President of the IOC Commission on Revenues and Commercial Partnerships, said the partnership offers a marketing platform that builds on the global reach and values of the Olympic Games. He stressed that such partnerships with major brands are a big step forward for the organisation to bring more resources to the Olympic movement and spread sport to the masses.
The International Olympic Committee continues to operate as a non-profit, independent organisation that aims to build a better world through sport. The IOC supports sport in every region of the world, with 90% of its revenues going to athletes and sports organisations. This provides the equivalent of US$ 4.2 million in funding to athletes around the world every day.
