Google is updating Gmail’s search function with a new AI-powered system. According to the company’s statement, when users search for their emails, the results will now be sorted not only in chronological order but also by relevance. The new system organizes the search results by considering the time of the emails, the most clicked messages, and the people they frequently interact with.
The Gmail app finally offers the much-requested feature
Until now, Gmail only displayed search results based on keywords, with the newest emails at the top. The new update aims to make searched emails appear at the top, allowing users to access the information they need faster.

Users will be able to choose between “Most relevant” and “Most recent” emails with a new toggle button. This will also provide an option for those who want to see results only in chronological order, as in the old system.
The update is available worldwide for users with personal Google accounts. The new search function is available on the web version of Gmail and on the Android and iOS apps. Google plans to bring this feature to business accounts in the future.
This change is seen as part of Google’s efforts to transform Gmail into a more powerful email platform. The company has recently added many new features to stand out from Apple’s Mail app. So what do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
