According to some users, the Gmail Android app is experiencing some problems. It seems that the app, which is already pre-installed on most smartphones with the Google operating system, crashes when there are multiple external accounts to manage. Here are the details
Why does Gmail crash on some Android phones?
Currently, the app has a feature that manages external email accounts, such as your own professional email or an old Yahoo account, which is not very famous for not being very useful for some people. Unfortunately for these accounts, Gmail is currently crashing on some users.
Reports from users with a Yahoo account linked to Google’s email app say that the app will crash almost instantly when opening their account on the other provider and opening any messages received.
In addition to the published reports, the DownDetector website, which shows complaints from users, has also detected an increase in complaints. According to Android Police, Google was already aware of the problem and rushed to fix it after user reports appeared online.
According to the company, there is no known workaround. However, 24 hours after the complaints, the tech giant issued a fix that resolved the issue.
Unfortunately, there is no confirmation yet that the issue has been fully resolved. Therefore, although the reports on the issue seem to have decreased, some users still continue to face this kind of problem.
