The PC version of Sony Santa Monica’s God of War Ragnarok has received its first post-launch patch, addressing several technical issues that some players experienced on launch.
God of War Ragnarok gets first patch on PC
Released by port studio Jetpack Interactive, the new patch focuses on fixing compatibility and performance with NVIDIA GPU technologies. It resolves problems with DLSS Frame Generation and Reflex that caused the features to be non-functional previously.
One of the more notable fixes is removing the 6GB VRAM requirement to launch the game. This means owners of graphics cards with under 6GB can now play without needing to use mods to bypass the blockade.
Audio mixing when using surround sound was also tweaked. The patch stops stereo mixing from being applied, avoiding issues where some sounds played too quietly or loudly.
At around 12MB in size, the update is swiftly deployed via Steam. Its rollout demonstrates Jetpack Interactive’s commitment to supporting the PC edition going forward. Addressing major complaints from launch is a great sign they will continue optimizing and squashing bugs to improve the experience for players.
With this first patch out within the launch window, it sets the stage for Jetpack to deliver on smoothing over other pain points that some PC users may face as more players dive into God of War Ragnarok’s epic Norse adventure.
