Apple is continuing its preparations for the iPhone 17 series, which it plans to unveil toward the end of the year. As the launch date approaches, new details about the series have started to emerge. The latest reports bring both good and bad news regarding the memory capacities of the iPhone 17 lineup.
The iPhone 17 series will see a RAM upgrade, but not for all models
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the company is making significant efforts to equip every model in the iPhone 17 series with 12 GB of RAM. As is known, all models in last year’s iPhone 16 series featured 8 GB of RAM.

In fact, Apple even wants to equip the iPhone 17 Air model, which it is preparing to launch as a competitor to the Galaxy S25 Edge, with 12 GB of RAM. However, due to supply chain issues, the standard iPhone 17 may not be as lucky. Apple is expected to make its final decision regarding the memory capacity of the standard model by the end of this month.
In short, the iPhone 17 is expected to launch with 8 GB of RAM, while the 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and 17 Air models are expected to come with 12 GB of RAM. However, it’s important to remember that these details are still based on leaks. It would be wiser to wait for an official announcement from Apple for confirmation.
Lastly, it is highly likely that all models in the iPhone 18 series, which is expected to be introduced in 2026, will come with 12 GB of RAM.
