Following recent news that Pixel 9 will also be available in our country, the popularity of the Pixel series continues to grow. Adding to this excitement, Google is now bringing an AI-supported feature, initially exclusive to the latest Pixel model, to its older devices as well.
Pixel 9-exclusive Weather App Now on Older Devices!
Google has started rolling out its new AI-powered weather app to Pixel smartphones. Initially introduced with the Pixel 9, the app is now available for Pixel 6, 7, and 8 series devices running Android 15.
The new Google Weather app automatically retrieves saved locations from the weather service on Pixel phones, allowing users to track weather in multiple locations simultaneously. Additionally, the app organizes weather data into customizable tabs and provides map-based tracking capabilities.
One of the standout features is AI-powered daily weather summaries. Instead of scanning lengthy weather reports, users can get quick answers to practical questions like “Do I need to bring an umbrella today?”
It’s worth noting that the app currently has a rating of 2.3 stars on the Play Store and has received some criticism. The main complaint is the inability to check weather for random cities without adding them to the saved locations list. Despite this limitation, it serves as a notable alternative to the now-defunct Dark Sky app, which Apple acquired and subsequently shut down in 2020.
If you own a 6, 7, or 8 series Pixel device, you can download the next-gen weather app by clicking here.
