Google has released an update that adds a new memory feature to Gemini, allowing users to easily access their previous conversations. With this feature, it will be able to remember details from past chats and use them in new responses.
Gemini now remembers previous conversations!
According to Google’s announcement, when users ask about a previously discussed topic or request a summary of a previous conversation, Gemini will check memory generate responses by remembering relevant conversations.
Until now, when users wanted to reuse information from their past conversations, they had to manually find and open the relevant chat from their chat history. However, this process became cumbersome, especially when trying to remember old conversations and find specific information. Since Gemini didn’t have a chat history search function, users had to manually scan through a long history.
The new memory feature allows users to access previous conversations more quickly while also offering the ability to pin specific chats. This way, users won’t have to worry about losing and finding frequently used or important conversations again.
This update is particularly important for users seeking emotional support or using Gemini for more personal purposes. Chatbots with memory systems are known to be widely preferred, and apps like Nomi are the biggest example of this.
Google’s new memory feature is currently only available in English and has been made accessible to Google One AI Premium subscribers. While Gemini is currently only available on web and mobile platforms, there are plans to expand it with more language support and for Google Workspace Business and Enterprise users in the coming period.
