The Android XR glasses, jointly developed by Google and Samsung, will be released under the Samsung brand in 2026. The smart glasses focused on extended reality have only been exhibited in the prototype phase to date.
Google and Samsung are designing smart glasses
Google first introduced Android XR technology at events held in December 2024 and has continued to exhibit these prototypes on different platforms since then. However, details about the technical specifications of the glasses have not been officially announced to date.

Although Google introduced the product, it is stated that the sales and distribution operations will be carried out by Samsung. The first images were shared with the public at Google’s XR Unlock event in December 2024. It was said that the prototypes used in this introduction were Samsung’s devices in the development process.
This confirms a collaboration in which Samsung plays an active role in the hardware side and Google in the software infrastructure. The company is also expected to introduce another XR headset codenamed “Project Moohan” in 2025.
The innovative device was briefly shown at two different events in recent months. It is still unclear whether Project Moohan will be released this year. However, the latest information suggests that the product will only be introduced, with the final version postponed to a later date.
It is stated that the company has long-term plans in the extended reality market and aims to increase competition with multiple XR devices in different categories. So what do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
