Google has started to remove some features from Google Assistant in order to improve the user experience. According to the company’s statement, this decision was made to make the Assistant more efficient and useful, but many users think there are different reasons behind this situation.
Google Assistant will remove these features
The removed features include various functions such as voice commands related to Google Photos, translation mode and in-car use. It will no longer be possible to share photos with voice commands, add them to favorites or ask when and where they were taken.

These operations can only be done manually via the Google Photos app or Smart Display settings. Similarly, visual settings such as photo frames and ambient screens cannot be changed with voice commands.
In addition, the Interpreter Mode, which allows instant translation, has been removed, and users will have to manually use the Google Translate app instead. There are also changes to Google Assistant’s Routines feature. Birthday reminders will no longer work routinely, but individual reminders can still be set for specific people.
Notifications known as the Family Bell will also not be accessible via Google Assistant. Regular notifications such as daily weather forecasts will no longer be offered by default, but will only be provided through special settings that users will define themselves. In addition, it will no longer be possible to use Google Assistant in the car via Bluetooth or AUX cable.
These steps by Google give strong signals that Assistant is gradually being phased out. Gemini will replace this application on mobile devices by the end of 2025. So what do you think about this? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
