Google Chrome is preparing to solve the pop-up nightmare once and for all!
Recently, Google Chrome, the world’s most widely used internet browser, has faced major backlash due to controversial decisions, especially regarding its war against ad-blocking extensions. However, exciting developments are on the way… Google is addressing one of the most common user frustrations while browsing the internet: pop-ups. Here are the details…
Google Chrome is testing a new AI-powered feature
Google’s newly developed PermissionsAI aims to make requests from websites—like location access and notification permissions—less intrusive. In the current system, users are confronted with these requests directly in the center of the screen, sometimes accidentally clicked. PermissionsAI, however, intends to hide these requests in a less distracting interface rather than displaying them immediately.

PermissionsAI is currently being tested in the Chrome Canary version and is not yet available for general use. Google also announced that this feature will work integrated with the Safe Browsing security tool, ensuring continued protection from malicious software and harmful sites.
This new solution provided by Google could be a huge relief for users. However, the true effectiveness and improvement in user experience will become clearer when it is released to the broader public. Google mentions that the AI model will continue to learn and evolve based on user behavior.
Do you think Google’s new AI-based solution will completely eliminate the pop-up nightmare? Or will advertisers and websites find new ways to bypass the system? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
