Google will end support for macOS 11 Big Sur with the release of Chrome version 139. According to the Chrome Platform Status page, Big Sur will be supported for the last time in Chrome 138. This means Google will no longer provide updates for the operating system that was launched in November 2020.
macOS 11 Big Sur loses Google Chrome support
Apple ended official support for Big Sur in November 2023, but Google continued to support Chrome on this system for nearly two more years.

Chrome 139 is expected to be released on July 30, and with this version, users will need to be running at least macOS 12 Monterey. Although Monterey is no longer officially supported by Apple, Google still provides support for it.
macOS 12 replaced Big Sur in 2021 and Apple has not updated it for about a year. Despite this, Google continues to support it in Chrome.
Big Sur users will still be able to use Chrome, but they won’t receive new features or security updates. Due to potential security risks, it’s recommended to upgrade to a newer macOS version if possible.
