Google is implementing new AI-powered security measures against fraudulent activities in its Chrome browser. The company will protect users against phishing and similar online threats by using a large language model called Gemini Nano on the desktop version. This model strengthens security layers by analyzing the complex structure of websites.
Google Chrome prevents fraud with AI
Chrome’s Safe Browsing feature has been actively used for a long time to protect users from malicious sites. The Advanced Protection mode of this feature offers twice as much security as Standard Protection.

Google is taking this mode even further with its AI model Gemini Nano. It is stated that Gemini Nano is used especially to detect remote technical support frauds and that this model will also be useful against different types of fraud in the future.
A significant change will also be implemented in the Chrome browser on Android devices. Mobile users will now be warned against spam and misleading notifications coming from malicious websites. Thanks to the Chrome on-device machine learning model, it will mark such notifications as fraud and offer users the option to cancel or block them.
Google also states that artificial intelligence is actively used on the search engine side. According to the information shared by the company, hundreds of millions of fraud attempts are prevented every day in search results thanks to artificial intelligence-supported systems.
These systems contribute to the detection of 20 times more fraud cases than traditional methods. So what do you think about this issue? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
