The new system automatically stops cloud syncing when a ransomware attempt is detected. This prevents the attack from spreading more widely and provides users with alternative ways to download uninfected file versions. According to Google, when the app detects unusual activity, it not only suspends syncing of affected files but also sends instant notifications and email alerts to the user.
