Google’s parent company, Alphabet, announced its third-quarter 2025 financial results, highlighting the tech giant’s rapid rise in the artificial intelligence space. The company broke a record with its first-ever quarterly revenue of $100 billion, increasing its revenue by 16% year-over-year to $102.3 billion. This growth was driven by double-digit growth across all its core businesses, including Google Search, YouTube ads, subscriptions, platforms, and Google Cloud.
Gemini Exceeds User Count Target Early
At an investor conference, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai announced the incredible growth of its AI assistant, Gemini. The Gemini app’s monthly active users have surpassed 650 million. This figure represents a significant jump from Gemini’s 90 million monthly active users in October 2024 and 350 million in March 2025.

Pichai’s year-end target of 500 million users appears to have been met months in advance. It was stated that this data belongs to the standalone Gemini app, available on Android, iOS, and the web.
One of the key factors behind this growth was the Nano Banana AI model, which was introduced in September and features image creation and editing capabilities. This model alone reportedly brought in 23 million new Gemini users.
Sundar Pichai made another ambitious announcement in the field of artificial intelligence, heralding the arrival of the Gemini 3 model later this year. Furthermore, Google’s AI Mode feature, which it integrated into its search engine and reported reaching 100 million users in July before its international expansion, is currently actively used by 75 million daily users.
Subscription services also played a significant role in Alphabet’s financial success. The company announced that it has reached over 300 million paid subscribers, led by Google One and YouTube Premium. In May, Google One had 150 million subscribers, while YouTube Premium last reported 100 million subscribers in February 2024.
