Almost all major companies, from Samsung and Apple to Meta and Google, have placed their AI models at the center of their plans for the new era and want users to adopt these AI models. Google has now decided to offer users the option to remove Gemini, abandoning its previous insistence.
Google Gemini Can Be Turned Off in Messages
While AI has become an integral part of our lives, some users might still find these innovations unappealing. For a while, Google’s Gemini feature in the Messages app was mandatory, but now it can be easily removed with a simple adjustment. Here are the details…
The Gemini feature, introduced in June and integrated as a floating button in the Messages app, could not be turned off until recently. With a recent update, Google has made it possible to disable this feature.
If you’re using the beta version of Google Messages, all you need to do is go to Settings > Messages and navigate to the Gemini tab. Simply uncheck the box next to “Show Gemini Button,” and you will no longer see the Gemini button in Messages.
In light of recent claims and complaints about AI models accessing emails, messages, and photos without consent, some users prefer to steer clear of this technology. Therefore, Google’s new update is likely to be well-received by users. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
