With the introduction of artificial intelligence into our lives, robots that only do certain tasks are now encountered in more complicated subjects. For example, playing table tennis. Today, Google, which showed its robot playing table tennis, managed to attract the attention of the whole world again.
The robot developed by Google DeepMind wins 45 percent of the matches!
Founded in 2010, Google’s artificial intelligence program development company DeepMind introduced the robot it has been working on for a while today. Artificial intelligence, which has reached every area of life in recent years, today placed a robot at the end of a table tennis table.
DeepMind, which placed a human at one end of the table tennis table and a robotic arm at the other, describes the robot’s table tennis performance as “at the level of a solid amateur human”. In other words, it is not a professional, but it is seen as more successful than an amateur player.
In the shared video, the robot, which demonstrates that it can make light and hard hits, respond to these hits, throw fast and slow balls, also shows how quickly it makes decisions for various hits. This arm, which is stated by Google officials as the first robot at the amateur human level in table tennis, eliminated 55 percent of its mid-level opponents during the testing phase. However, it could not even win a match when faced with an advanced player.
The Google DeepMind robot, which has gained a good place in table tennis with an average success rate of 45 percent for now, managed to surprise everyone, to be honest. What do you think about this? We are waiting for your ideas in the comments.
