Leaked documents about Google’s new generation smartphones have revealed that there will be remarkable changes in the camera hardware of the Pixel 10 series. The biggest innovation in the series is that the basic model Pixel 10 will have an independent telephoto camera for the first time. However, this addition will come with some hardware changes.
Google will come out with the Pixel 10 series
The Pixel 10 will use Samsung’s 11-megapixel JJ1 sensor for its telephoto camera. However, this sensor may offer more limited performance compared to the larger sensors in the Pro models. Moreover, some steps back seem to have been taken in the main and ultra-wide-angle cameras to balance the cost.

The 1/1.31-inch Samsung GNV main camera used in the previous model will be replaced by the smaller GN8 sensor. Similarly, the 13 MP IMX712 is preferred instead of the 48 MP Sony IMX858 ultra-wide-angle camera.
As a result of these changes, the Pixel 10; Although it seems to have more cameras, it can perform similarly to the Pixel 9a in practice. So, even though a new telephoto lens has been added, changes to other sensors may cause a regression in user experience.
On the other hand, no major hardware changes have been made to the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL models, and the camera system from the previous generation has been preserved. The foldable Pixel 10 Pro Fold comes with a small change in its main camera.
This model will now have a 50 MP Samsung GN8 sensor instead of the previous 64 MP Sony IMX787. On paper, this change is considered a simplification rather than an upgrade. So what do you think about this? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
