Google’s Pixel Fold is set to be released on June 27, but some pre-order customers are reporting that their orders have been canceled. The issue appears to be payment-related, with Google apparently telling some users that their “payment method couldn’t be verified.”
Pixel Fold pre-orders canceled for some users due to payment issues
In a Reddit thread, several users have reported that their Pixel Fold pre-orders were canceled. The issue seems to be affecting both US and UK customers, and it appears to be limited to orders placed through the Google Store.
Some users who have had their orders canceled have been able to place new orders, but they have had to wait longer for their phones to ship. One user reported that they were able to resolve the issue by immediately logging back in and re-confirming their bank card.
Google has not yet commented on the issue, but the company has been known to cancel pre-orders in the past due to payment problems. In 2021, Google canceled a number of Pixel 6 pre-orders after the company’s payment processor experienced technical difficulties.
If you have had your Pixel Fold pre-order canceled, you can contact Google customer support for assistance. You can also try re-placing your order, but be aware that you may have to wait longer for your phone to ship.
