When traveling to a city you don’t know, your most reliable friend will be Google Maps. Google has introduced a major innovation for Maps users while driving. Added buildings to maps in 3D. Thanks to this new feature, you will be able to easily find your way in unfamiliar cities. Google has updated this feature for both iOS and Android users. Here are the details…
Google Maps added 3D layer feature for buildings!
In fact, 3D buildings have been available in the layers tab in the Google Maps application for a while. To activate this feature, simply tap the Layers icon and then 3D. However, this feature was not previously available in navigation mode. Now, with Google’s new update, you will be able to use it while in navigation mode and traveling between two points.
Google offers this feature for both Android and iOS users. This new feature will give you a great advantage in finding your way around different cities. Because it gives you another visual pointer to help you determine your next turn.
This feature only appears when you’re in cities or densely populated areas. You also need to zoom in on the map before it appears. However, it certainly seems like a useful upgrade if you’re passing through an unfamiliar capital city. This feature is also available in some Android Auto and CarPlay.
This innovation is not a radical overhaul for Google Maps navigation. But the inclusion of 3D buildings certainly seems useful for urban driving. In this feature the outline of the building is roughly scaled. Google has not yet rolled out this feature globally. However, it will soon include many large settlements in this layer.
