Recently, Google, which has introduced many visual and functional innovations for many applications from Photos to Drive, from Gemini to Meet, can’t seem to stay still, so to speak. The world-famous company is now working on a brand new feature for its Maps application that could make drivers particularly happy.
Stops can now be added to Google Maps!
Google is enhancing Maps with Gemini AI support to provide users with a smarter travel experience. Maps will offer suggestions for places to visit or activities to do and help plan group activities. You’ll even be able to ask whether a place has a quiet atmosphere or outdoor seating.
Additionally, for drivers, a ‘add stop’ feature is coming that will allow them to add tourist spots and dining stops along their route. During navigation, clearer lane information and road sign details will also be provided. Furthermore, a feature to report weather disruptions along the route will be added.
Maps will show nearby parking spots when approaching the destination and will provide walking directions with Street View or augmented reality support. These features will initially be available in more than 30 major cities.
Google is initially rolling out these new features in the US and some other regions. No specific date has been given for Turkey yet, but these features are expected to arrive in Turkey as well.
So, what do you think about this? Will these new additions to Google Maps really be helpful for drivers? Don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments!
