Google has begun testing a new feature that will allow users to more easily manage their cloud storage. This feature, available in some versions of the app, allows users to quickly delete or save photos and videos.
Google Photos Offers a Familiar Innovation
The new system works similarly to the right-left swipe function in the dating app Tinder. Users now delete photos and videos by swiping left in Google Photos, while they swipe right to save content. This feature is planned to be automatically integrated for all users, and there is no additional setting to activate it.

This feature, currently available to a limited number of users, is currently in a trial phase. It is not yet clear when the feature will be rolled out to the masses. The system will be developed based on feedback received.
First impressions suggest that the swipe system is both practical and fun. This suggests that the project will likely be fully implemented before it is canceled.
While the new system offers ease of use, it does carry the risk of accidental swipes for some users. The app’s speed-focused nature could lead to a moment of carelessness accidentally deleting a valuable memory. However, it’s believed Google is working on additional safeguards to prevent such situations, such as an “undo” or confirmation mechanism for deleted photos.
