With the Pixel 10 series, Google is adding a new AI-powered editing feature to the Google Photos app. Users can now edit their photos using voice or text commands. For example, simple commands like “remove cars from the background” or “repair this old photo” automatically apply the desired edits.
Google Photos Gains a New Feature
The revamped editing tool already offered one-tap suggestions and quick editing tools. With this latest update, natural language interaction is now available. Users can make personalized edits in seconds, thanks to Gemini models, without having to think about which tool to choose.

It’s even possible to submit multiple requests simultaneously. Edits aren’t limited to removing lighting, color, or distracting elements. Users can change the background of a photo or even add fun additions like glasses or a party hat.
To increase transparency, Google is also introducing C2PA Content Credentials support with the Pixel 10. This allows users to see how a photo was created or edited within Google Photos.
This system, in addition to existing IPTC metadata and SynthID technology, is used to ensure the reliability of AI-edited images. The new features are initially available to Pixel 10 users in the US. They are planned to gradually expand to Android and iOS devices later.
