Google Pixel 8a powered by Tensor G3 processor
Google has added the A-series to its Pixel lineup, with these models offering more affordable pricing and mid-range features. With today’s announcements, it has emerged that a new A-series phone has been introduced. Looking at the features of the Google Pixel 8a model, it is powered by the Tensor G3 processor with the Titan M2 security coprocessor. The processor is accompanied by 8 GB of LPDDR5x memory and either 128 GB or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
On the display side, it hosts a new 6.1-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1800 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the screen can reach a brightness of 1400 nits when playing HDR content. The Pixel 8a, offering more than 24 hours of battery life, comes with a 4492 mAh battery with 18W wired fast charging and Qi wireless charging support.
Google has deployed its chatbot, Gemini, to gather intelligence using artificial intelligence in the fight against cyber threats.
Running on the Android 14 operating system, the new device will receive OS, security, and special innovation updates for seven years. Additionally, features such as Circle to Search, Pixel Call Assistant, Audio Emoji, and Gemini are also among the announcements the Google Pixel 8a will receive.
The Pixel phone comes with an advanced camera system, featuring a 64-megapixel main camera, as well as features like astrophotography time-lapse, 240 fps slow motion, fused video stabilization, Cinematic Pan, 5x digital zoom, and optical image stabilization.
Available in Bay, Aloe, Porcelain, and Obsidian color options, the Google Pixel 8a is priced at $499 for the 128GB model and $559 for the 256GB model. Pre-orders open today in the US, with the new device available starting from May 14th.
