Google has gradually rolled out a new AI feature for its Android app store, the Google Play Store. This feature allows user reviews to be summarized in a single paragraph. This summary will now appear in the “User ratings and reviews” section of apps, under the “What users are saying” heading.
The Play Store is transitioning to AI
The new system becomes active for apps that have accumulated a certain number of reviews. However, Google has not officially announced the minimum number of reviews required for this summarization feature to be activated.

This AI-generated summary combines the most frequently mentioned positive and negative points about the app and presents them in a short paragraph. Just below the summary text, there are link buttons that allow users to quickly navigate to real user reviews on related topics. This feature makes it easier for users to get a general idea of an app.
Google officials confirmed that this summary feature has been in testing for over a year. Following the completion of the testing phase, the feature is now available to a wider audience of Android users. Competitor Apple rolled out a similar feature to iOS users on the App Store last April. With this move, Google is speeding up users’ access to information in the app store experience.
