US-based technology company Google has announced three different language education modules supported by artificial intelligence. The new service offered by the company through the Google Labs platform will allow users who want to learn a foreign language to practice. These modules, which are offered free of charge, are available worldwide, including Turkey.
Google will teach languages for free with artificial intelligence
The newly announced modules consist of three separate structures that appeal to different learning styles. The first module, called “Tiny Lesson,” helps users quickly learn expressions they may need at a certain moment.

The second module, “Slang Hang,” focuses on street language and local slang expressions, going beyond official language structures. This module aims to improve users’ social communication skills with its structure that aims to bring familiarity to spoken language.
The third module, “Word Cam,” also uses a method similar to augmented reality. Users can scan objects they see in their surroundings by opening their phone’s camera. The system, supported by visual elements, increases interaction by including the physical environment in the learning process.
Google emphasized that the AI-powered language modules in question are still in the early stages and have some shortcomings. The company recommends that users use these systems in conjunction with other language learning platforms.
The modules, which can be accessed via Google Labs, offer support in a total of 16 languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.
