Google has now made its AI-powered video production model, Veo 3, available to the general public via the Vertex AI platform. Along with this, a faster version of the model, Veo 3 Fast, has been announced. The new model can produce video in a shorter time compared to the previous version and was developed specifically for commercial applications.
Google Announces Veo 3 Fast
Since its launch, Veo 3 has attracted attention for its success in transitioning from text to images in video production. Standing out with advanced features such as dialogue creation, background audio addition, lip syncing, and physical detail matching, the model allowed users to achieve scene integrity with a single command. Previously available to a limited user base, the system is now reaching a broader user base through Vertex AI.
According to Google’s announcement today, the new version, called Veo 3 Fast, significantly reduces production time while maintaining the same production quality as the base model. This model can deliver videos at 1080p resolution.
Videos featuring audio, dialogue, and synchronized animations can be produced quickly using user input. It’s stated that no refinements have been made to details such as physical compatibility and lip movement matching.
Google states that the Veo 3 Fast is designed specifically for use by businesses. The model is expected to be effective in scenarios such as quickly creating ad variations, creating visual product promotional videos, or producing corporate training content. The company is preparing to add new capabilities to both the Veo 3 and Veo 3 Fast models to expand their use cases.
An update is planned for both models in August. With this update, users will be able to convert their provided images into short, eight-second videos. This feature, previously tested on the Gemini and Google Photos platforms in a limited capacity, is now available directly through the Veo infrastructure.
