Google has developed a new app that allows users to try on clothes digitally on their own images. This experimental app, called Doppl, is currently only available in the US and on both iOS and Android platforms. Users can see how clothes look on their own bodies with the help of artificial intelligence.
You will be able to try on clothes digitally with Doppl
Doppl’s basic working principle is quite simple. The user first uploads a full-length photo to the app. Then, they transfer the images of the clothes they are interested in or the screenshots of the combinations they come across on social media to Doppl.
The app virtually dresses these clothes on the user’s digital model. Moreover, it does not limit itself to static images, but converts these images into short videos animated by artificial intelligence. In this way, it becomes possible to see how the clothes look on you not only in photos but also in motion.
Users can save and archive the combinations they like via Doppl. The app also offers the option to share digital looks with others. Google describes Doppl as a more advanced version of the virtual try-on technologies it previously tried on within the scope of Google Shopping.
Google is developing the Doppl app as a standalone platform to provide a fun and personalized shopping experience. At the same time, the app also serves to collect data on how technologies similar to Google may evolve in the future.
The company stated that the app is still in the experimental phase and that errors in clothing fit, appearance, or details may occur from time to time. So what do you think about this? You can share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
