Google has released a public preview of Gemini 1.5 Pro for all users. The new model has approximately eight times greater command support than OpenAI GPT-4 Turbo. The artificial intelligence to be offered on the Vertex AI platform will compete with GPT-4.
Gemini 1.5 Pro becomes available with Vertex AI
According to Google, Gemini 1.5 Pro supports 1 million tokens. This means that it can understand approximately 30 thousand lines of code or 700 thousand words of commands. The technology giant stated that documents, code fragments, audio files and photos can be analyzed.
Supporting 1 million token entries corresponds to about 1 hour of video content or 11 hours of audio. During the test conducted by Google, Gemini 1.5 Pro was able to find jokes in the document about Apollo 11’s landing on the Moon. Google claimed that the jokes were queried in just 20-60 seconds.
Gemini 1.5 Pro started testing some time ago. It is now generally available on the Vertex AI platform. Companies such as United Wholesale Mortgage, TBS and Replit said they will use Gemini for tasks such as data tagging and code generation.
Gemini 1.5 Pro, which supports multiple languages and modes, stands out with its ability to analyze content across different media types. Google also said it can summarize for users by making comparisons. It can also create transcriptions for video.
Gemini 1.5 Pro runs slower than ChatGPT, processing 1 million tokens. However, Google said it can provide richer responses without going off-topic.
