Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup xAI has announced Grok Imagine, a new tool that can create videos and images from text and visual commands. Able to produce high-quality visual content and audio videos in just a few seconds, the system is currently available to SuperGrok Heavy and Premium+ users on iOS devices. Android support is not yet live.

Grok Imagine Unveiled

Grok Imagine not only generates images but can also create videos up to 15 seconds long with audio. In this respect, it positions itself as a direct competitor to OpenAI’s Sora model and Google’s Veo 3 system.

The app interface features two separate tabs: “Ask” and “Imagine.” The “Ask” tab contains Grok’s classic chat features, while the “Imagine” tab allows users to directly create images and videos.

One of the features that makes Grok Imagine stand out is its “spicy mode” for creating adult content. This mode allows users to create images that include partial nudity. The system also allows the inclusion of famous names in commands.

However, the system automatically applies censorship when it detects that certain ethical and security limits have been exceeded. The nature and extent of this censorship are not specified.

The quality of the content produced is currently limited. Skin textures are reportedly unnatural, giving a wax-like appearance. Despite this, Grok Imagine’s instant content creation capacity, ease of use, and audio video creation feature are among the system’s notable features.

Artificial intelligence systems open to adult content share similarities with Musk’s previous digital projects. xAI previously developed an AI character capable of generating anime-style sexually explicit scenes. This history comes as no surprise that Grok Imagine allows 18+ content.

The feature is expected to expand its user base and expand to different devices in the future. However, the policies regarding legal regulations, ethical standards, and digital content security during this period remain unclear.
