It has been leaked that GTA 6, the new installment of the Grand Theft Auto series, will run at 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 5 Pro. According to information shared by Detective Seeds, a well-known leaker on X, a technical collaboration is underway between Sony and Rockstar Games on this matter.
GTA 6 Will Run at 60 FPS on the PlayStation 5 Pro
According to the leak, a PlayStation engineer stated that Sony is working on a marketing agreement with Rockstar, and that this collaboration is directly related to GTA 6’s performance on the PS5 Pro. The game will include graphics options, but regardless of these options, it will run at 60 FPS in all situations. It is stated that there will be no separate system setup like Performance Mode, and that the game will run at this frame rate regardless of the graphics settings selected.

It has been reported that Sony’s engineering team is in direct contact with Rockstar to ensure the game achieves these goals and is working on a special system update for the PlayStation 5 Pro. This update is reportedly scheduled to coincide with the release of GTA 6. The release date is set for May 2026.
The collaboration isn’t limited to technical details. Special GTA 6 bundles for the PS5 Pro and the release of some future games with platform-exclusive content are also part of the agreement.
The second trailer for GTA 6 was previously recorded on the PlayStation 5, and it was stated that the footage was rendered at 30 fps. This suggested a similar launch performance to Rockstar’s past games. However, considering the PS5 Pro’s technical capabilities—for example, GTA V can run at 60 fps at 1440p resolution—it’s not surprising that GTA 6 will reach this level on this next-generation console.
