Following the GTA VI delay announcement, Rockstar Games surprised players by launching a campaign offering free access to GTA Online. The company has made the popular online game free on select consoles until November 17th.
Which consoles are eligible for free access to GTA Online?
According to a statement released by Rockstar Games on Platform X, players will be able to access GTA Online completely free for the next week. This campaign is only valid for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S console owners.

A Great Opportunity for Players
This campaign offers a great opportunity for players who haven’t yet entered the world of GTA Online. Your progress will also be saved during this time. However, it’s worth noting that the game will become a paid game again when the campaign ends on November 17th.
Rockstar Games has recently been in the news due to protests from former employees and criticism of its game development processes. Furthermore, the release of one of the most anticipated games, GTA VI, has been postponed to November 2026. The addition of GTA 5 to the PS Plus library and the now-limited free availability of GTA Online are seen as moves aimed at keeping players engaged.
