Apple introduced haptic feedback for Apple Music with the iOS 18 update . Now, music will not only appeal to your ears, but you will also feel every beat thanks to the iPhone’s haptic engine. So how exactly does this feature work?
Haptic feedback feature comes to Apple Music app with iOS 18: Now you can feel the bass
To briefly explain the feature, the iPhone’s haptic engine will allow you to physically feel the music with vibrations, touches and small impacts while the music is playing. In this way, you will be able to perceive the rhythm and every detail of the music with your hand. In fact, you will feel the music in your body.
Apple has created four special playlists for this feature: Haptics Beats, Haptics Bass, Haptics Vibrations , and Haptics Hits . Each offers a different haptic experience, allowing you to not only listen to the music but also physically feel it.
This feature can also be used actively in Apple Music, Apple Music Classical, Shazam and some third-party applications. The Haptics Beats playlist in particular is full of powerful haptic feedback that transmits bass rhythms directly to your body. Haptics Vibrations, on the other hand, offers an experience that makes you “touch” the music with softer vibrations.
Using this feature is quite easy with the iOS 18 update. All iOS 18 devices except the iPhone SE (3rd generation) support this feature. Apple describes this feature as “ feeling music like never before .” In other words, it allows users to feel music not only as a sound but also as a tactile experience.
Meanwhile, it is also possible to say that users who are deaf or have hearing loss have the opportunity to experience music in a completely different way. What do you think about this feature? How do you think feeling the music through vibrations changes the listening experience? You can write your opinions in the comments section below.
