Recent leaks indicate that a long-term agreement has been reached between Amazon and Huawei. Consequently, the patent dispute between the two parties has also been resolved. The details of the agreement have not yet been disclosed. However, Alan Fan, Huawei’s Director of Intellectual Property Rights, stated that with this agreement, they have withdrawn patent lawsuits filed by Amazon for certain video and Wi-Fi technologies implemented in Germany.

Is Amazon collaborating with Huawei in the patent field?

The resolution of the patent dispute between the two companies has led to speculation about comprehensive collaboration. It is suggested that the companies can complement each other in many ways. However, it can be said that the biggest obstacle in this regard is the American embargo against Huawei. The U.S., accusing the company of being directly linked to the Chinese government, has imposed significant bans on many important software and hardware aspects.

Alan Fan emphasized in his statement regarding this matter that this agreement indicates that good relations can be established between an American company and a Chinese company, and beneficial projects can be undertaken within the scope of mutual interests. However, due to the current political environment, it seems quite challenging to establish strong ties between companies from the two countries.
