HAVELSAN is adding artificial intelligence support to ADVENT, the combat management system developed for the Naval Forces Command. MAIN, the company’s Enterprise Artificial Intelligence Platform, is being integrated into the ADVENT system, enhancing the system’s capabilities in decision support and maintenance. The integration of AI into the system aims to increase operational efficiency in combat management.

Artificial Intelligence is Coming to HAVELSAN’s ADVENT System

Developed with domestic and national resources, ADVENT is actively used in nine countries, including Turkey. The system stands out with its multi-mission capability, real-time data sharing, and integrated command and control infrastructure for modern naval operations. With ADVENT, HAVELSAN offers a highly effective command and control solution for naval platforms.

The AI integration is being carried out in two phases via the MAIN platform. The first phase has been completed, and the Maintenance Support Assistant feature has been incorporated into the system. This new module provides AI-based assistance to maintenance personnel.

The system recommends necessary maintenance steps, provides quick access to maintenance instructions, and provides a system-wide natural language question-and-answer mechanism. This feature aims to facilitate faster, more systematic, and error-free maintenance processes.

In the second phase, artificial intelligence is being integrated into the decision support process. During this phase, operators will be provided with recommendation mechanisms to support their decision-making process. The system is expected to analyze potential scenarios during operations and offer alternative recommendations. The decision support system’s capabilities include identification and classification, anomaly detection, navigational safety, increased situational awareness, and the optimization of training activities.

Advanced technologies such as big data analytics, machine learning algorithms, image recognition systems, and large language models are utilized to achieve these capabilities. By analyzing real-time data, the system can direct operators’ attention to critical points, anticipate potential threats, and enable rapid and accurate responses to these threats.

With this integration, HAVELSAN has transformed ADVENT from a mere command and control platform into a system with high situational awareness, learning capabilities, and predictive capabilities.

Integrating artificial intelligence into decision-making processes increases operational effectiveness on naval platforms while also providing a new generation structure that supports users in high-intensity mission environments.
