Exciting news has come from an unexpected front for democracy advocates. Johan Pilestedt, creative director of Arrowhead Game Studios, surprisingly announced that the studio is working on a Helldivers 2 roguelite mod. This development is set to add chaotic fun to the game’s tactical nature.
Helldivers 2 Roguelite Mod Officially Confirmed
The development came to light on December 10th through a dialogue on the social media platform X. Responding to a player’s request for “an endless mode where waves of enemies come or targets constantly move,” Pilestedt dropped the bombshell. The director revealed the secretly conducted project, stating, “We have a rogue-lite mod prototype.”
Pilestedt further emphasized that this mod fundamentally changes the game. The current structure of the game, a squad shooter based on strategic calculations, seems poised to rewrite the rules of Superworld when combined with roguelite dynamics.
While the director confirmed the existence of the prototype, he remained tight-lipped about the details. It’s still unknown when this new mod will be released or exactly what its content will include. The stage of development is also currently a mystery.
While players are currently focused on the new commemorative cloak, a reward for saving the Oshaune hive world from the Gloom cloud, roguelite excitement has already begun within the community. With messages of readiness flooding social media, how Arrowhead will integrate this chaotic mod into the game is eagerly awaited.
