Bigme has unveiled the HiBreak Pro Color, a compact smartphone that blends E Ink display tech with full Android functionality and 5G support.
HiBreak Pro Color features a color-capable E Ink screen

The main upgrade to this new HiBreak Pro is the addition of a color E Ink display. Measuring 6.13 inches, the screen maintains 300 PPI in grayscale and drops to 150 PPI when showing color. It’s not built for video, but for reading; it excels, especially outdoors.
This display tech is known for its efficiency. Combined with a 4,500 mAh battery, users can expect excellent battery life. Front lighting helps it stay usable in low-light settings as well.
Compact frame, full smartphone specs
Despite its niche display, the HiBreak Pro Color isn’t short on features. It includes:
- MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor
- 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage
- 5G support with dual SIM slots
- 20 MP rear camera + 5 MP front camera
- NFC for mobile payments
- USB-C charging at up to 18 W
- Android 14 with fingerprint unlock
The phone measures 159.8 x 80.9 x 8.9 mm and weighs 193 grams, compact, but not flimsy.
E Ink limits motion, but boosts usability
E Ink’s biggest strength is readability in sunlight and energy savings. Of course, animations and video aren’t smooth on this type of display. Still, for users looking to reduce distractions or prioritize battery life, it’s a fair tradeoff.
Pre-orders for HiBreak Pro Color are now live
It is up for pre-order through Bigme’s official store. It’s priced at $399.99 before shipping, with deliveries scheduled for early October.
A niche phone with everyday tools
Bigme’s latest might not be for everyone, but for those who value minimalism, long battery life, and eye comfort, the HiBreak Pro Color hits a rare balance.
