The official X account of the National Cyber Incident Response Center announced today that many social media applications such as LinkedIn, X and Weibo have been subjected to data leaks. The data released is truly horrifying.
Data leak size is 12 TB!
According to USOM, the size of the data leak is 12 Terabytes. The data of many giant companies and messaging applications, including employment platform LinkedIn, social media platform X and Weibo, were leaked.
The incident, in which a total of 26 billion personal data was leaked, is described as ‘the biggest data leak in history’.
What can you do if your platform suffers from data leak?
1) Enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) measures in the applications used.
2) Ensuring that corporate e-mail addresses are not used for registration to websites other than corporate or company applications.
3) Checking whether the accounts of the applications have been leaked through platforms such as “Have I Been Pwned”.
4) Updating the passwords used for each application to include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, special characters and to be at least 10 characters long and different from each other.
