There has been an exciting development regarding Hollow Knight: Silksong. Matthew Griffin, the developer’s head of marketing, has confirmed the game and its ongoing development. This follows rumors circulating about the status of the game.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is in development
Pellen, one of the game’s developers, recently changed his profile picture on social media to an image of a chocolate cake. Players started to think that an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) was launched to announce the release of the new production.
However, these expectations were short-lived. Matthew Griffin clarified that the profile changes were an “empty event” and that there was no ARG in the works. Despite this misunderstanding, a clear explanation came and stated that the game is being developed and will be released soon.
Silksong, the sequel to the Metroidvania Hollow Knight, was originally announced in 2019. However, the game was repeatedly delayed, raising questions about the development process. However, with the introduction of Switch 2 and Mario Kart 9 at the Nintendo Direct event, the excitement for Silksong’s release grew even more.
For those who don’t know, Hollow Knight is a 2017 Metroidvania action-adventure game developed and published by Team Cherry. Players travel through the Kingdom of Hallownest, encountering various bugs, fighting bosses and unlocking new powers/features.
It was released for Microsoft Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems in 2017, and for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2018.
