At the Japan Mobility Expo 2025 in Tokyo, Honda unveiled two new prototypes reflecting its vision of the future of electric vehicles: the Honda $0 \alpha$ SUV and the Super-ONE Prototype. These two models represent the next phase in the brand’s electric mobility strategy.
Honda Announces New Vehicle Prototypes
The Honda $0 \alpha$ is the newest member of the Honda 0 Series, which was unveiled at CES 2025 at the beginning of the year. Following the previously revealed Honda 0 Saloon and 0 SUV models, this vehicle utilizes the brand’s next-generation electric vehicle platform.

The company states that it designed the $0 \alpha$ as a model that “bridges the gap between the city and nature.” At the front, the headlights, charging port, and illuminated Honda logo are integrated into a single panel.
At the rear, a U-shaped LED light signature unites the brake, signal, and tail lights. Honda hasn’t yet released engine or battery data for these 0 Series models, but previously announced that the 0 Saloon and 0 SUV will have a range of approximately 482 kilometers. The production version of the $0 \alpha$ is scheduled to go on sale in Japan and India in 2027.
The Super-ONE, the second model Honda unveiled at the show, was developed under the brand’s “e: Dash BOOSTER” concept. Despite its compact dimensions, the vehicle aims to deliver a dynamic driving experience and promises performance that “stimulates all the driver’s senses.”
The “Super-ONE” name symbolizes Honda’s goal of creating a vehicle that “goes beyond the ordinary” and “is unique to Honda.” The model is built on the lightweight Honda N Series platform introduced this year. The vehicle’s “Boost Mode” provides a short-term power boost.
This mode realistically replicates both engine sound and gearshift feel thanks to a simulated seven-speed transmission synchronized with Honda’s Active Sound Control system. The mass-production version of the Super-ONE will go on sale in Japan in 2026. It is planned to be offered for sale in the UK and Asian markets under different names afterward.
