After launching the Honor 400 series (powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets) in China last June, Honor has quickly turned its sights to its next flagship. Rumors suggest the new Honor 500 and 500 Pro series are expected to debut in China in November or December.
Honor 500 Pro: 200MP Camera and Periscope Zoom Confirmed
Digital Chat Station (DCS), a trusted source in the leak world, has confirmed key features of the Honor 500 Pro in a recent post on Weibo. Leaked camera information regarding Honor’s new flagship model suggests the brand will raise the bar in mobile photography.

The Honor 500 Pro will feature a powerful 200-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor size. This aligns with previous claims that Honor is focusing entirely on high-resolution sensors in its premium phones.
The device will feature a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. This lens will provide superior detail capture in long-distance shots. Details about the ultra-wide-angle camera have not yet been released.
The DCS leak reveals that the 500 Pro will be impressive not only in its imaging capabilities but also in its performance and battery life. At the heart of the device will be Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This chip will make Honor’s new series one of the most powerful smartphones in its class.
The Honor 500 Pro is expected to have the largest battery capacity in its segment. Considering that the predecessor, the Honor 400 Pro, carried a 7,200 mAh battery, the new model is expected to either match or exceed this capacity. Both the Honor 500 and 500 Pro are expected to feature 6.5-inch displays supporting 1.5K resolution.
