Honor made important announcements at the MWC 2025 event. The company announced that it will offer software updates to its flagship phones for seven years. In addition, it introduced new AI-based tools that facilitate file sharing, improve smartphone photography, and detect deepfake images. One of the most striking of these was the AI Deepfake Detection function, which detects deepfake images.
Honor introduces AI Deepfake Detection function
Honor shared concrete developments regarding its AI Deepfake Detection tool, which it first showed at IFA 2024, at MWC 2025. The Chinese company announced that the new tool, which can detect deepfake images with a high success rate, will be available first on the Magic 7 Pro and Magic V3 models.

To elaborate on this a little more, the brand’s new feature carefully scans for critical details such as pixel-level inconsistencies in images, unnatural edges, and even a face that does not align perfectly with its ears or hair, and produces tangible results.
For example, if a deepfake is detected in an image, the new feature warns users that “This person may have changed their face through artificial intelligence.” In fact, right below this phrase, it gives the probability that the image is fake as a percentage.
The brand’s new function can prevent potential victimization from the very beginning in 2025, when artificial intelligence develops in an unstoppable way. For this reason, it is necessary to be careful against deepfake technology, which can produce realistic but fake content.
