Honor is set to unveil the Magic V Flip 2 on August 21. The new device will feature the largest battery ever used in a vertically foldable smartphone. In an official announcement, the company confirmed both the battery capacity and the charging capabilities of the upcoming model.
What will the Honor Magic V Flip 2 offer?
Back in June, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 was launched in China with a 5,165mAh battery and 67W fast charging, setting a record in the vertical foldable category. However, it lacked wireless charging support.

The Honor Magic V Flip 2, by comparison, will pack an even larger 5,500mAh battery, along with 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. This makes it the most powerful battery and charging combination ever offered in a vertically foldable phone.
Another official announcement revealed that the Magic V Flip 2 will feature ultra-durable UTG glass. The company claims the device shows a crease of less than 50μm even after 350,000 folds, and will remain smooth and nearly new even after five years of use.
According to leaks, the foldable will sport a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED main display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a 4-inch LTPO OLED cover display, also supporting 120Hz. The front will house a 50MP selfie camera, while the rear will feature a 200MP main sensor paired with a 50MP ultra-wide lens.
Under the hood, the Magic V Flip 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, offering up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The device will measure 6.9mm in thickness, weigh 204 grams, and launch in black, white, purple, and a special edition blue color option.
