Honor MagicPad 3 Pro targets iPad Pro with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Honor MagicPad 3 Pro debuts with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 165Hz display, and 12,450 mAh battery priced well below the iPad Pro.

The Honor MagicPad 3 Pro isn’t trying to beat the iPad Pro at its own game; it’s rewriting the rules on price-to-performance.

Armed with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the MagicPad 3 Pro enters the scene as one of the most powerful Android tablets available. Paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of flash storage, it handles gaming, multitasking, and content creation without flinching. Despite that firepower, it’s just 5.73 mm thick, matching the slim profile of Apple’s premium slate.

Honor didn’t go OLED this time, but the 13.3-inch IPS panel still brings the heat. It features a 3,200 x 2,136 resolution, 165 Hz refresh rate, and 1,100 nits of brightness. That combination gives smooth visuals without killing the battery or the price tag. Thanks to MagicOS 10, users can arrange multiple apps in resizable windows, mimicking a desktop workflow.

This is more than a media tablet. With a 12,450 mAh battery, the MagicPad 3 Pro promises hours of uninterrupted work or play. When it’s time to recharge, 70W USB-C charging gets you moving again quickly.

Here’s a quick look at the hardware:

    • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor
    • Up to 16 GB RAM / 512 GB storage
    • 13.3″ 165Hz IPS display (1,100 nits brightness)
    • 12,450 mAh battery with 70W charging
    • 13 MP rear camera, 9 MP front
    • Magic Pencil 3 and keyboard case sold separately

Prices in China start at around $533 for the 12 GB + 256 GB version, while the 16 GB + 512 GB model comes in at about $660. That’s a serious undercut compared to Apple’s latest offerings. Even with some trade-offs like the lack of OLED, it’s clear this tablet isn’t meant to follow. It’s intended to offer an alternative.

For now, the MagicPad 3 Pro is a China-exclusive release. Honor hasn’t announced an international rollout, but given the hardware and pricing, demand outside of China could be strong if it ever expands.

The Honor MagicPad 3 Pro brings flagship specs without the flagship markup. Whether it lands globally or not, it’s already throwing punches in Apple’s weight class and not missing.
