Honor generated considerable curiosity with its concept phone, unveiled earlier this year and featuring a gimbal camera attached to a robotic arm, at the back. While the device’s official launch was confirmed to take place at the MWC trade show in March 2026, the company previewed a prototype of this exciting device at the Honor User Carnival in China.
It Hide a Robotic Arm and Gimbal Camera Behind!
This event provided our first live look at the Honor Robot Phone. The preview detailed the device’s different design iterations, color options, and undoubtedly its most crucial feature, the gimbal camera mechanism.

Honor plans to offer the Robot Phone in three main colors: Black, White, and Gold. Depending on the color chosen, the device’s back may be finished in faux leather or glass. The design, with its aluminum body and glass window located just below the camera island, has an aesthetic reminiscent of the iPhone 17 Pro series.
The Robot Phone’s most distinctive feature is, of course, its camera module. The gimbal camera features a mechanism that automatically extends from a recessed area in the device’s camera island.
The key selling point of this system will be the artificial intelligence (AI) features integrated into the phone. The AI is expected to provide sophisticated capabilities that will allow the gimbal to move and interact with what it sees. This will allow the device to capture stable, intelligently tracking videos without user intervention.
Honor hasn’t yet confirmed whether the Robot Phone will be commercialized or remain a concept prototype. However, we expect to learn more about the device in the lead-up to MWC in March 2026.
