The new Renault Clio, which will roll off the assembly line in Bursa, one of Turkey’s automotive production hubs, has been subjected to rigorous crash tests by Euro NCAP, the most prestigious safety organization in the automotive world. According to the eagerly awaited test results, the popular model received four stars.
New Renault Clio and Euro NCAP Performance
While the new Renault Clio missed the perfect five stars in the safety tests, its performance shows that it “didn’t fail.” Detailed analyses revealed that, particularly in the side impact tests with a pole, while the vehicle’s performance wasn’t perfect, the critical intervention of the curtain airbags ensured the vital safety of the passengers. Furthermore, the automatic collision avoidance and emergency braking systems performed successfully throughout the test.
For comparison, the domestic car projects Togg T10X and T10F models also proved their safety claims by receiving five stars in the same Euro NCAP tests. However, the Clio’s four-star rating doesn’t mean the vehicle is unsafe; It only shows minor losses in some of the top-level criteria.
The release date of this new generation vehicle, which will be produced at the Oyak Renault factories in Bursa, has also been finalized. According to plans, the new Renault Clio will be available at dealerships in February 2026. Initially, consumers will be offered a 1.2-liter, 115 horsepower gasoline engine option.
In the future, the model range will expand. For those seeking both fuel efficiency and performance, the 1.8-liter, 160 horsepower E-Tech Hybrid and the more economical 120 horsepower LPG-powered ECO-G versions will also be offered. Looking at the vehicle’s dimensions, the measurements of 4.11 meters in length, 1.76 meters in width, and 1.45 meters in height are noteworthy.
According to data shared by the brand, the Full Hybrid E-Tech 160 hp version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds, while offering a very impressive average fuel consumption of 3.9 liters per 100 kilometers. The 1.2 TCe 115 hp petrol engine, arriving in February, completes the 0-100 km/h acceleration in 10.1 seconds and consumes an average of 5.1 liters of fuel. Both engine options have a maximum speed of 170 km/h.
